Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) Calculator Online. The Chemical Oxygen Demand or COD, is a measurement of the amount of material that can be oxidized (combined with oxygen) in the presence of a strong chemical oxidizing agent. More specifically, the test is a process of decomposing pollutants in
water after two hours of boiling the water in a solution of potassium
dichromate. COD Calculator calculates Chemical Oxygen Demand in a Water.
Formula:-
Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) = (A-B)xMx8000 / Volume of Sample mL
Where:
- A : mL of titrant used for sample
- B : mL of titrant used for blank
- M : Normality of ferrous ammonium sulfate

ReplyDeletewhat is blank ?
and why do we need Normality of ferrous ammonium sulphate
blank is a synthetic samples containing potassium hydrogen phthalate and NaCl was tested by laboratories.
DeleteHow many volume of sample is used in the calculation. Please specify this volume of sample.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the 8000 coming from?
ReplyDelete8000 = milliequivalent weight of oxygen X 1000 mL/L.
