PPM ( Parts Per Million ) chemistry Calculator to calculate chemical concentration of water. PPM ( Parts per million ) is a value that represents the part of a whole number in units of 1/1000000. Ppm is used to measure chemical concentration, usually in a solution of water.
Parts Per Million Formula:
- PPM = (Defective Parts / Total Parts)*1000000
- Defective % = (Defective Parts / Total Parts)*100
Example, if you have 950 defects out of 20,200 parts that would be the ppm and ppm%?
PPM = (950/20200)*1,000,000 = 47029.702970 PPM
Defective % = (950/20200)*100 = 4.702970%
