Alkalinity Concentration Calculator | Carbonate ph Alkalinity

Online Alkalinity Concentration Calculator is used to calculate alkalinity concentration in water. Alkalinity is the water's capacity to neutralize acids or the measure of how much acid can be added to a liquid without causing a significant change in pH. It is expressed in terms of mg/L of equivalent calcium carbonate.

             Alkalinity Concentration : mg/L as CaCO3

Formula: Alkalinity (mg/L as CaCO3) = (mL of H2SO4 X 1000)/mL of sample

Example: A 75 mL sample is titrated with 0.02 M H2SO4. The endpoint is reached when 17.5 mL of H2SO4 have been added. What is the alkalinity concentration?
Alkalinity (mg/L as CaCO3) = mL of H2SO4 X 1000 mL of sample
                                            = (17.5 mL X 1000) / (75)

                                            = 233.3 mg/L as CaCO3
